The latest news from Eaquals and its members

Summer is generally the period during which schools are bustling with students who are excited about learning a new language, exploring their surroundings and trying new things!

Eaquals is launching a new campaign for the month of August called ' Capture the moment' where we are asking our members to send us their photos showing the current vibe at the school. The photos may be of the students in class, on an activity, of the staff... whatever you think captures that feeling.

Photos will be published on our social media platforms and the newsletter at the end of the month. So get snapping and send them to [email protected] because we are only accepting photos till 4th August.

IH Bucharest helping Ukrainian refugees integrate in Romania

As a passionate advocate for social responsibility,  International House Bucharest is more than proud to act as a facilitator for refugees’ integration within Romania. Starting this year, IH Bucharest is committed to offering language courses to refugees from Ukraine, in an effort to offer valuable support and help them start a new life in a foreign country. In a strong partnership with EBRD (The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and Jobs4Ukraine, they have provided Romanian and English language courses to almost 100 refugees so far.

This project added to the initiatives developed together with other prestigious organizations and NGOs, helped them reach 300 refugees. IH Bucharest estimate that this figure will reach 500 by the end of the year, and they are ready to take this project to the next level.

International House Bucharest supports the Ukrainian community with adapting to life in Romania. Its team of professional language teachers has been trained to better understand student needs in this particular context and has designed personalized courses, aimed at cultural and linguistic integration.

NILE: Fundraising for increased access to education

Each summer at NILE when their classrooms are full of teachers, trainers, NILE Staff and course participants come together in support of INTO Giving, the charitable arm of INTO which supports projects that increase access to education across the globe. This summer they decided on a charity cake sale! Their staff baked a range of delicious cakes to sell in reception at break time. Hungry NILE participants queued to get a taste of the British classics like victoria sponge, apple cake, carrot cake, lemon drizzle and many more. Not only was it a great cultural experience for NILE participants, the event was so successful that they decided on another round due to popular demand, and so far they have raised over £200.NILE would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who baked and bought cake.
